On 17 July, Jean Edusei attended White Mere Community Primary School, Wardley, Gateshead to collect a cheque for £728 which had been raised by the school over the course of the past year at school fairs, cake sales and donations from parents. One very generous family donated an addition £500 to enable the Ghanaian Children’s Trust to sort out the water and sanitation problems in the girls’ house at King Jesus Charity Home. Jean showed the staff and children some photos of the over-crowded and badly equipped rooms in the girls’ house so they would understand how their donation would be used. The children promised to continue fundraising over the next school year and try to raise even more money for GCT – well done White Mere Community Primary School!
