In January we received a very generous donation of £3,000 from the William Leech Charity to put with the £2,000 received earlier from the Green Hall Foundation.  This enabled us to proceed with our project to renew the damaged sanitary ware and plumbing at King Jesus charity Home.  Most of this work has now been completed and is making a huge difference – at last the toilets flush and the showers and washbasin taps are working properly.  Very soon the enormous water tank will be replaced.  The old one was leaking, despite having been “patched up” on previous occasions.

The education project is going very well.  The children now have the correct shoes that they need for school and the laptops are vitally important for the children’s education.  The computer room has been fitted with underfloor trunking, so trailing cables are a thing of the past.

As some of the older residents have moved out to pursue their careers and lead independent lives, sadly some new children come to stay at the home where they will be in a safe and loving environment, getting good education and training and the chance of a happy future.  This is due to the dedicated care from the director, Pastor Kofi Owusu-Afriyie and his staff.  The donations the Ghanaian Children’s Trust is able to send are providing vital support.  Without our very generous donors, we couldn’t do our bit to help.

2020 was a difficult year but the Ghanaian Children’s Trust was successful in meeting its objectives, thanks to everybody who has donated.  2021 got off to a good start with our London Underground Quiz and Easter Raffle, both fundraisers being run via Facebook.  Check out our Facebook page for upcoming events: https://www.facebook.com/Ghanaianchildrenstrust

We can’t wait to get back to normal fundraising events and meet up with our amazing supporters as soon as Covid-19 rules allow.
