Our Chair of Trustees, Jean Edusei, is walking 75 miles in 3 weeks to raise funds for GCT.  Jean will be 75 soon and is determined to walk 1 mile for each year of her age by her 75th birthday in July.  She has set a fundraising target of £750.  In just one week, Jean has completed 30 miles of walks – this does not include the normal walking she would do in her daily life – and has so far raised £250.

Jean says: “Normally at this time of year we would be holding our biggest fundraising event, our summer Garden Party; the last one raised over £1,500.  As this is not possible because of the covid restrictions, I had to think of what I can do to try and make up the shortfall and walking seemed like the obvious thing.  Walking 5 extra miles every day is challenging but I’m getting fitter each day, have more energy and am sleeping better.  More importantly, money is coming in to the charity from our amazing supporters to enable us to continue helping the children in Ghana.”.
