The pandemic has already had an effect on our charity, in common with other charities. Our street collection in central Newcastle, planned for 16 March, had to be cancelled and a concert by Gosforth and District Choir, planned to take place on 7 May, has also been cancelled but we hope to re-book later in the year.
We are holding fire at the moment with regard to our Annual Garden Party, planned for 6 June, but it is looking as if we will have to cancel this event also.
Obviously these cancelled events are having a major effect on our income and hence the support we can give to the orphaned and destitute children in Ghana. Thankfully many of our supporters donate by regular standing order and their donations are extremely valuable in supporting our work and provide a regular income.
