Students, staff and parents at Gosforth Park First School in Newcastle upon Tyne have been working hard all year to raise funds for our charity to help the children in Ghana. At a school open day in June they presented a cheque for £1,162.12 and expect that total to go up to nearer £2,000 by the end of the school term. The money has been raised by sponsored events and sales organised by the staff and pupils. In addition the school has donated books and items of clothing and shoes which are all now at the orphanage in Kumasi. The pupils have been finding out about what life is like in Ghana and have produced some wonderful artwork, poetry and stories. We say a huge THANK YOU to everybody at the school who has worked so hard to make this a success, especially Sue Wilson who has coordinated the whole project. WELL DONE GOSFORTH PARK FIRST SCHOOL!
