Using the new furniture at KJCH

Using the new furniture at KJCH

Thanks to a £4,000 grant from the Sir William and Lady Leech Charity, work has now been completed on the former classroom block at King Jesus Charity Home.  They now have a wonderful dining hall/activity room, sick bay, offices, music room and storerooms.  All the rooms have tiled floors, plastic tongue and groove ceilings, electricity supply and fans.  Some of the new furniture has been delivered and  the carpenter will finish the rest very soon.  For the first time all the children and young people at the orphanage will be able to sit down to meals together and will have a fully equipped sick bay where the local doctor or nurse can attend to their health needs, vaccinations etc.  The children are very keen on playing music and in the new music room they have a drum kit, electric organ and 2 guitars.  They would love some brass instruments so if you know anybody who no longer needs theirs, please let us know.

The staff are enjoying the new office facilities and the storage rooms, with their newly tiled floors, provide much needed hygienic food storage facilities.

The main building at the orphanage still requires many thousands of £’s to complete it and this will have to be done in stages over the next few years as funds become available.
