Immunisation News and our Buy A Bed Appeal!

We’re delighted to have received two substantial donations to help us run a much-needed immunisation programme at the orphanage. The Rothley Trust donated £1,500 to fund Hepatitis immunisation for the children and staff, providing essential protection against potentially fatal viral infection. Girl Guides teach healthy eating

In July/August 2011, 12 members of Girlguiding Newcastle visited the orphanage and taught the children and adults at King Jesus Charity Home about nutrition and healthy eating. They also decorated the kitchen which was badly in need of a clean-up. GCT then paid for the construction of an outdoor cooking shelter so that it will no longer be necessary to use the charcoal stoves in the kitchen during bad weather. Looking for band instruments

The children at King Jesus Charity Home are desperate to form a brass band but have no instruments. If you know anybody who could donate an instrument to us, please get in touch. In the meantime the children have formed a choir and have been asked to perform at local events. Unfortunately they are unable to do so because they don’t have microphones or stands and they really could do with a keyboard. Another hurdle is paying for transport to events and competitions so we need more money!...
